Brewhouse Buzz at Alltech Craft Brews & Food Fair
The recent Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair 2016 was a huge success, with over 70 exhibitors promoting premium Irish products and an impressive 10,000 or so attendees over the course of three very busy days. The show made its mark on the first night, breaking the The Guinness World Record for the biggest beer tasting event, with 729 willing participants tasting three different beers simultaneously.
While consumers no doubt enjoyed the craft brews, food and entertainment on show, the event was an important opportunity for industry insiders too – with suppliers and buyers networking productively over the weekend.
Spectac International had a premium position at the event, with a 5HL complete brewery system on show right at the entrance; and anyone who has been to the Conference Centre in Dublin will know what an impressive space this is. In fact, complete brewhouses created quite a stir both with casual visitors and those involved in the trade.
Director Faye Healy said “We had many engineers working at the stand over the course of the weekend as there were a number of interesting enquiries about brewing tanks and lots of questions on both the technical side of the complete installation but also on the business case – people were interested in the cost benefits of working with a sole supplier like ourselves – to offer a complete manufacturing solution. Both Tony (our founder)and myself met perspective clients, ranging from private craft brewers through to industrial sized organisations. There was quite an international feel to the event too and we had many European visitors at the stand, including a lot of interest from German breweries. We also met up with many existing clients and global brands like Diageo, whom we’ve worked with in the past, checked in with us at the stand.”
The Brewhouse continued to attract attention throughout the event but the highlight of the show was Saturday as the stand was hopping with people throughout the day – right up to closing time at 10pm! Faye noted that industry professionals from other market sectors showed an interest in the stand “Obviously we expected brewers, distillers and food professionals to attend and to take an interest in the brewhouse but we have worked across a number of other sectors and manufacturers from other markets were interested to learn that complete, automated manufacturing systems are appropriate across a number of different types of facilities.”
